Dit-Cilinn
Dit-Cilinn explores human existence and spirituality through elaborate objects, collages and sculptures. With a unique attention to detail and a skillful combination of materials, her work is a negotiation between present day urban life and a desire for something transcendent. Her projects often involve crafted, cultured and mass produced items in a sculptural dynamic that challenge ideas of nature and separation.
Dit-Cilinn (b 1983) attended Valand Academy, Gothenburg, and the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm, in 2006-09. She holds an MFA from California College of the Arts in San Francisco (2013). She has exhibited at For-Site Foundation, Nevada City, and Oliver Art Center, Oakland, USA, Röda Sten Konsthall, Gothenburg, and Gothenburg Art Museum. In 2014, Dit-Cilinn was awarded one of the Maria Bonnier Dahlin Grants. In 2017 she has concluded a two year Rijksakademie Residency in Amsterdam.
In the fall of 2019, Dit-Cilinn participated in Part of the Labyrinth at GIBCA, the Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, with a site-specific installation at the Natural History Museum, together with David Ohlsson.
